Our Story

I've always loved scented candles. Such perfect, simple, cosy mood makers or mood breakers! Bringing cheer at Christmas time, adding a touch of calm at the end of a busy day or making an evening in Summertime last just a little bit longer. Then when our children came along - the candles that had so lifted my spirits now filled me with dread!

I looked for better, safer alternatives discovering real wax LED candles, but something was missing.

Then came my eureka moment!

What I needed was a luxury scented LED candle. While I loved the safety and peace of mind that my wax covered flameless candles offered, I missed the scents. That started me on this remarkable journey. I set about designing Sónua Candles, inspired by Irish nature, from my home in Cork, Ireland. Leaning on my finely-tuned skills working in Quality in the Pharma sector, I took the leap towards product creation and entrepreneurship. 

And so, Sónua Candles was born. It has been an extraordinary journey, and I am delighted to share these unique candles with you.

Sónua candles are individually handcrafted in an elegant wax casing, giving you a safe and practical flameless candle. With a range of fresh scents, each candle allows you to change aroma depending on the season or mood and are an effortless way to add an enveloping fragrance to any room. Designed in Ireland and inspired by Nature, our exquisitely fragranced LED candles combine luxury with sustainability.
